War of Smart Phones: iPhone 4S vs. Droid RAZR vs. Galaxy Nexus

Motorola launched world’s thinnest Smartphone Droid RAZR on October 19 and is in a race to give tough competition to its contemporaries; iPhone 4S and Galaxy Nexus. Motorola has a plus point in smart design whereas iPhone 4S scores away with incredible assistant feature

Siri and Galaxy Nexus combines the two tech giants in Samsung and Google. This isn’t all; Samsung has beefed-up to take down Apple by adopting guerilla marketing techniques.

Samsung and Google first introduced the high-end model at a Hong Kong event. The handset was delayed in launch from last week as a tribute to the Late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to be powered by the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The device has a 4.65” screen as against the 3.5” iPhone 4S screen. Nexus comes with a high definition AM-OLED display and iPhone 4S comes with an amazing retina display.

Some defining features of Galaxy Nexus are; Face recognition for unlocking, Voice type replacing type texting (user can type anything by speaking), 5MP camera to record full HD video, Android Beam technology based on near field communication to allow quick transfer of contacts, photos, maps and videos by simple tapping of two phones together, Contour display with no home button (4.29mm bezel) and the best of all is the fast new operating system.

Motorola’s Droid RAZR is just 7.1mm thick with a stainless-steel core and a Gorilla glass screen. The added plus is a nanotechnology splash-guard to protect electrical boards inside. Most importantly, RAZR works on Verizon’s 4G too. It has 4.3” screen and high definition resolution. The device runs on Android 2.3.5 aka Gingerbread and is powered by 1.2GHz DC processor. You can download movies direct from Netflix as the gadget supports webtop interface. Another best feature, MotoCast, is the syncing system that gets your personal content straight to your pocket.

Seems the smartphones are truly at war. Samsung was trying to ensnare Apple by opening up a pop-up store offering its new Galaxy S II for just A$2 to the top ten customers everyday, as a move to take-on iPhone launch. Apple is the originator of ideas whereas Samsung is lightning fast in bringing new products to the market. And so Samsung seems to be winning this war of smartphones for now. Its number of units sold has overtaken Apple’s sales figures in this quarter. However, Apple has managed to move 4 million iPhone 4S units in just 3 days. And it is expected of it to blow the market in Christmas time.

The battle of smartphones is hot and raging not only in the market but inside the courtrooms as well. Samsung and Apple are at tug-war for quite a while now. And it’s not easy to overcome infringement issues. Still we hope the tech giants will come to peace sooner or later. Amen!

I do not like steve jobs and the way he handled his business with the iphone and also saying that he wanted to destroy android? i know he thought he had some idea that he didnt know existed already and called it siri. lol.. i love the idea of it and ive used it for years on my android and we just call it Google Voice Commands. You say what you want it to do and it does it. Adding an AI to it just makes it over rated to me and kinda cheezy. Just like how the new notifications are on the iphone 4s. reminds me of android in alot of ways. i think steve jobs only wanted to destroy android because he wanted to have the only smart phone with things he originally did. I have always always thought how ridiculous it is to sale a smart phone that cost more for the amount of storage you want. it could cost hundreds more for the new iphone with 32gb when you could buy android phones that allow you to either use internal memory or an external memory. is that why he wants to destroy android? so he could continue to run his monopoly game.

iphone is the single best selling phone, period. it's raging a war against a myriad of android phones from all the companies that make'em, and still holds it's own ground, pound for pound the iphone is the undisputed winner.

Pick up an iPhone. Then pick up anything else. You go and have your fun with your plastic garbage. Samsung and Motorola phones are like Lexus and Acura, respectively, who wanna be part of the luxury car race… but real car owners know that they will never amount to those like BMW, Benz and Audi. If you like driving a Lexus and think you are hot shit cuz it has "similar" features, then enjoy driving a hyped up Toyota and walk around with your Nexus… cuz you know the only reason you own that is because you can't afford the phone or the phone plan with ATT. Poor people who can't afford an iPhone, buy the hyped-up garbage… get on TMobile and then talk smack about the iPhone. Thinnest phone and largest display don't equate to being winners. The iPhone is just a beautifully made product. So you are wrong… Steve Jobs can't monopolize… because he will always have poor people like you, who can't afford his shits and bitch about it, you sour grape fck.

There are more poor people than rich. Put iPhone on TMobile, and let's see what happens. Otherwise, shut the fck up. No one goes gaga over any other product. A phone is more than just the case, the screen, the dimension and etc… Until the competition can come up with something else innovative, then all they are ever gonna be are just good copy cats. You can feel the iPhone 4/4S in your hand and you know the difference at the first touch. But morons like you who are fixated on the single dimensional aspects are what keeps Apple ahead of the competition. Because they think out-of-the-box to make things better in ways no one ever thought of, whereas companies you love only try to make what's already great, a little better.
