Production of High Resolution QXGA Display for iPad 3 has Started!
We have heard a lot about the High Resolution display of iPad 3. We are back to you with the latest tittle-tattle on iPad 3.
CNET reports that high resolution display of iPad 3 has been brought into the production phase. Analyst at DisplaySearch, Richard Shim, said that manufacturing of QXGA display panels with a resolution of 2048×1536 for iPad 3 has started.
Further, Shim said that three companies (LGD, Sharp and Samsung) have been contracted by Apple for production of 10 inched QXGA display in heavy volumes. So, adequacy is not at all a factor of showing concern. He added that the iPad 3 display is not based on active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED), but employs in-plane switching (IPS) technology.
In his words “It takes a couple of weeks for the production to go to the ODMs (the manufacturers). Then the manufacturer puts them in the housing. Then, that goes off to shipment. We could start seeing finished devices produced in December, and then being ready to be shipped in January, with volumes gearing up in February and March.”

Next to be brought up was the mini-iPad. Apple is also working on mini-iPad having a screen of 7.85 inches, and it would be coming out in middle of next year, says Shim. Well, let’s see!
