iPhone 5 Release Date Rumors Begin, Yet Again!
The iPhone 4S’s launch was a bummer for a huge lot of people. Though I wasn’t going to buy an iPhone 5 either, but count me in too!
And now with all uncertainties and doubts about new iPhone eliminated, the question arises “What about iPhone 5?” When will we see the product that we hugely expected?
Cheer up pals! It is being speculated that the release date of iPhone 5 may fall in the spring of 2012 or else, in the last quarter of next year.
Techies say that Apple is preparing to launch a brand new iPhone 5 next year which will have a support for the LTE technology and would possibly be based on NFC.
But this leaves me wondering about what new features we will get to see in iPhone 5 this time. Given that, iPhone 4S includes all features like a 3.5 inch widescreen multi-touch display, voice assistant feature “Siri”, an eight mega pixel camera, an excellent dual core processor and iOS 5 operating system, what has been saved for iPhone 5? Beyond guesses I think!
According to analysts, Apple was for sure, planning to release an iPhone 5 this year. But thinner design of the handset led to overheating due to excessive heat dissipated by the A5 processor. Due to this, they had to release iPhone 4S with thicker design pattern. Yeah! I know it’s insane!
Some believe that the 4G LTE technology needs a lot of space inside the handset and cannot be possibly fit inside compact iPhones. Even Tim Cook agrees to this fact that the first generation of Long Term Evolved chipsets would need a lot of compromises in design. Guess Apple is not fine with compromising in look and feel of such a high-tech product and hence is busy in finding a way out. So the release date of iPhone 5 may be in the second quarter of 2012.
Anand Shimpi, a chip expert and the CEO of Anandtech, says that Qualcomm is soon to come up with a MDM9615 chip (with a tiny package and voice enabled) that would need less energy and hence would draw less power from the battery. Probably by next year, LTE coverage area may also expand to other areas.
In a nutshell, the iPhone 5 release date may be announced sometime between March and May. However, if Apple does so, it will be breaking its trend of releasing iPhones at a gap of 1 year!

It is a shame that Apple took so long to release a new Iphone and basically used a lot of media hype to sell the old Iphone 4. Maybe they can come out with the Iphone 5 next spring.

Apple surely knows how to maintain the hype for their consumers and if they were going to bring out an iPhone 5 this year it would have been announced when iOS 5 was announced. I never expected it to launch this 4th October , so no grievance.

I believe the iphone 5 will going to be 4G capable. But like most, i too don't wanna wait another year for iphone 5. Hope they release it early next year or I may jump on to Android, or 'Samsung ‘Infuse’ or HTC ‘Inspire’.

I knew it they were not going to release iphone 5 until early 2012. They just released the white iphone 4 a few months back, so if they would have released the iphone 5 instead of 4S, it would have shut down the market for iphone 4. They played it smart.

I wanted to upgrade to a 4S. but AT&T's is asking for $250 extra over the subsidized price of a 4S. So I'll wait until my contacts up in July of 2012 and tell AT&T to suck my ahhum never mind.

FIRST of all.. All the hype is in all of you online reader who are willing to digest anything you see on the web. You build all your hopes and emotions on one thing, then get disappointed when it didn’t come out to how you fathomed up in your own mind.
SECONDLY, most of your forget about the 3Gs… When the 3Gs iPhone was created, it was not much of a huge difference from the 3G – beside some minor upgrade here and there. It wasn’t until the iPhone 4 that several major changes were made. The point is, before the iPhone 5, there should be a platform created that would introduce some of the current features that will be the iPhone 5 and then some.
THIRDLY, what you have to keep in mind is that Steve Jobs was a visionary. A man with a lot of creative thoughts that shaped and changed the world. If you get out of your small mindedness for just a second, you would see that in the mind of Job, it not so much of the physical functionalities but the internal that matter. Compare an iPhone to an android, you can say tell me that android opens apps and swipes through pages as spontaneous as you swipe with your fingers?? Does android have a simple yet sophisticated software where is can be spoken to like a person and understand what you’re saying without bearing repeating??? NO.. it’s all in the software… And until you get it that it’s more important on building a great operating system more than a camera that has two flashes, you’ll be stuck in the same world with no change and creativity. And THAT’S what Apple does…

I am disappointed to say the least. When the iPhone 4 came out, I said “What!? No 4g?!?” I was anticipating the release of the next generation simply for the fact that I assumed it would be 4g. When I heard that the 4s was STILL not 4g, that’s just retarded. I feel taken by apple. It is a great business plan no doubt. Over 1mil sold already and they’ll put a new one out within a year. I’m sure the 5 was delayed, so they came up with some neat features and stuck a dual core chip in it and re-released the 4. Apple is quickly geting left behind by android. Most androids are 4g, dual core, and some even act as wifi routers. Features we certainly haven’t seen in the iPhone market and probably still will not see in the 5. I’m not an android fan and I seriously doubt I would ever buy one. But it’s hard to remain loyal to apple when android is leaving them in the dust. Just my two cents.

The iPhone 4 can work as wifi router !!! You have to activate the setting for hot spot and then you can connect you PC or iPad or what ever on the 3G of the iPhone and it's work great.

The 4S is pretty sweet with Seri… Android phones are horrible, glitchy like a windows based computer. Anyone that has used a mac knows it is a quality product and that is what they do. I have played with all the new androids and they can't even get their web running smooth. It is sad when they have to have 200 different makers of phones for the android and none of them can make a smooth running web browser. Their software can't keep up with the 4G speed anyway it is simply touch the screen then wait for the software to recognize it… LAME ANDROID, oh look I can customize my clock, and keyboard… makes me feel like a big boy. The one and only good part about the android is Flash player… that is it, put 15 dual core chips in a android and it still will not compare to the smooth, slick, untouchable iphone. I would take a 3G IPhone over an android.

OMG people… follow the succession. silver 2g = iPhone 1, 3g = iPhone 2, 3gs = iPhone 3, 4 iPhone 4, 4S = iPhone 5, next in line is 6 NOT FIVE… So annoying hearing people talk about an iPhone 5 when the numbers dont match in sequence. And any comment to this you can just not leave. Dont waste time with a reply because NONE of the logic you can list will make the 6th iphone to come out be labeled the iphone 5.
