iPhone 5 Coming With 4G LTE Connectivity?

Who must not be waiting for LTE iPhone? But it all depends on the Cupertino giant if it is in favor of taking the extra pains as inclusion of another modem for 4G connectivity inside the already complex machinery of iPhone can take a toll on the phone’s performance. Also keeping in mind Apple’s love for perfection and enigma, it’s too early to say the next generation iPhone will be LTE enabled. But the reports differ.

Just when we thought iPhone 5 rumors have died down, pop came this news. After upsetting the whole world by missing on iPhone 5, Apple dint explain as to what was the cause of keeping iPhone 5 hidden. Since, 5th gen iPhone is ready the only reason it didn’t surface last month can be unavailability of 4G connection. What comes across as a major disappointment is no explanation from their side. But somehow when I see iPhone 5 as an LTE phone and bigger screen I can spare my thoughts till the next launch.

China Mobile Gives the News

As per a report from Developing Telecoms, a China Mobile general manager said that we could witness the next generation iPhone with not only LTE connectivity but also with potential services of both the versions; unpaired TDD and paired FDD. Bill Huang said, “iPhone 5 will certainly be an LTE terminal that potentially will support both TDD and FDD.” If Apple comes out with multi portability LTE it would be a significant development for the Chinese operator. “We are promoting both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE convergence globally,” said the GM “So when we deploy our terminals we will allow two types of terminals; TD-LTE-only terminals and both TDD/FDD combined terminals.”

If we take a look at HTC Thunderbolt’s performance, to our dismay, the cell phone’s battery life was hugely affected because of inaccurate intrinsic antennae design for 4G/3G. In that case Apple played smart, waited till other phones came up with the risk and seems ready now to warrant iPhone 5’s release with LTE design.

However, right now the LTE technology is in its infancy. We can expect 2012 iPhone with active 4G connection. Verizon who already has 4G services will bag the trophy next time if AT&T and Sprint don’t come up with the innovation. Lack of dependable operators offering LTE facility is another reason Apple thought it right to delay 4G iPhone 5 another year.
