iPad 3 Home Button Parts Start Circulating in China, Feature Changes in Design!

News about iPad 3 part leaks are becoming more frequent as its launch date (expected of course) draws near. Here’s yet another addition to the trail. 9To5Mac has posted an image that flaunts the Home button of next generation iPad and compares the iPad 2 Home button with it. The Button seems to have minor structural tweaks and its parts have been floating around in China for a while now, says the website.

Have a look at the image yourself:

After viewing it, you would realize that home buttons of the current gen and next gen iPad do not feature a huge difference, except that the frame of Home Screen Application icon (the square) is comparatively wider (represented by grey glyph). However, even this “smallest visible change” in design means a lot, and in fact, infers a lot!

  1. The button has been handled in both white and black colors, so, just like iPad 2, we may see iPad 3 in both the colors (of course, if these buttons are the final ones chosen to be used in the actual product)
  2. As the parts have been floating around in huge quantities, iPad 3 is definitely in, or at least approaching, the production phase
  3. The leak of home buttons suggests that the long rumored “Multitasking Gestures” to be used by Apple in their iOS devices, will not be implemented in iPad 3 at least. Hence, iPad 3 is not expected to loose its Home Button.

You can also figure out that the back connector of iPad 3  Home button is comparatively smaller than that of iPad 2. So, what is Apple trying to do? Is it an attempt to make room for something else? Well, may be! But what is it?

We already have been hearing that iPad 3 will be 1mm thicker than iPad 2 (in order to incorporate a Retina Display that has greater pixel density). So, I guess, Apple is trying to reduce the extra thickness of the gadget (induced by the display) by introducing a smaller home button. OMG! Apple and its strange ways!

Stay tuned for more!
