Images show iPad 3 Equipped with Quad-Core Processor, Global LTE and Wi-Fi Options!

BGR reports that it has received some details of iPad 3  (in form of images) from a source that claims to be in possession of an iPad 3 prototype. Data in the photos show the result of using a debug and development tool called iBoot on iPad 3 which certainly can be used to infer several things about the next generation iPad.

Here are the major findings:

  1. Model numbers of iPad 3 in the photograph are J1 and J2 (iPad 3,1 and iPad 3,2). These references J1 and J2  were discovered in iOS code in November too.

It is being said that these two versions  are no different from each other except that one would supposedly have Wi-Fi only, while the other will come with Wi-Fi and embedded GSM/CDMA/LTE “for all carriers”.

  1. For the very first time, evidence has confirmed that iPad 3 will have an A6 processor . Model number of the A6 processor is visible as S5L8945X. Just to bring to your notice, A4 processor model number was S5L8930X and that of A5 was S5L8940X.

  1. Report also says that the processor will be a quad-core processor  that would “make the upcoming iPad 3 the fastest iOS device ever.” It claims that the gadget will support LTE  along with the CDMA 3G and GSM networks.

However, the publication does not have any assurance of the credibility of source, so these images can be fake ones too. But in case they aren’t, we will definitely be getting a major upgrade over the current generation iPad soon!
