Apple to Hold an “Unusual” Event in Feb, Launch iPad 3 in March!

UPDATE:

Jim Dalrymple of The Loop says that Apple won’t be holding any event in February. In his words “This is not going to happen, according to my sources. Apple will not hold an event in February, unusual or otherwise. That’s it.” Jim has a decent track record of providing reliable Apple-related information. So probably, we will have to wait until March (at least) to witness a major announcement from Apple’s side.

Last month we reported  that Apple is to hold a special event ahead of iPad 3 launch in March. As Makotakara reported earlier, Apple’s next generation iPad and update to iOS 5 were supposed to be introduced at this event.

Yesterday, a blogger named Danbo claimed  that the furnished information was an incomplete truth. He says that Apple is sure to hold an event in February, but it will not include a full product launch. He addressed the event as a “strange” one, but didn’t provide further details on what it would entail.

Danbo says “Special Event for new products will be hold in early March and will release products during March as usual”. Apple may make the Feb event similar to last one (education event in NYC) that marked the release of iBooks Author and iBooks 2 without going into hardware details of the two.

We have heard of March release of iPad 3 several times before. Last month  Bloomberg reported that iPad 3 equipped with High Definition Display and LTE support is set to release in March. Pegatron and Foxconn were also reported to ship iPad 3 units  that very month. Earlier in January  and Last year in December  too, Digitimes said that iPad 3 is set to release in March and iPad 4 in October this year. iLounge too reported  in November about the same happening.

Well, March isn’t away. We will come to know the truth soon!
